Stylist

Sometimes it doesn’t take much to open the doors of imagination.”

Adeline, we cannot wait to get to know you better. There is a lot of information about you on the internet, but not much about the woman you are. Who is Adeline Ziliox?
Since I was a child, I have been fascinated by the arts of the stage and performing. I’ll tell you a secret: when I was little, I dreamed of becoming a dancer and perform on stage, but I was very shy and introverted. As a teenager, I started creating my own outfits to go out clubbing, to look unique. I did not want to look like the others. And that is how I found a way to express myself. Creating unique and special pieces for unique and exceptional women! I am stubborn and independent. I started my business at 24, right after graduating. This year is my 10th anniversary!

Every artist finds inspiration somewhere. Where do you find yours?
Inspiration…That’s a great question. I think it’s everywhere. A piano tune, a work of art, a silhouette walking from afar on the street, the wind in someone’s hair, a word. Sometimes it doesn’t take much to open the doors of imagination. But I have to admit I am very sensitive to music, so my muse is probably a musician!

You were on the Fashion Project show on C8 channel and you were one of the finalists. How did you get there?
It’s a magical story, actually. One day, a client came into my showroom, a woman from Chicago. We got to talk and she told me about the American show Project Runaway. She said she could totally see me in this type of show. I didn’t know it at all, so I wrote it down on a piece of paper. Months went by and I stumble upon that piece of paper. So at my lunch break, I started watching videos of the American version, and I felt whatever it was the candidates were feeling at the time. I turned off my computer and went on with my life. A few days later, a morning like any other, I got to my showroom, I turned on my computer, checked my emails… And I saw an email titled “Project Runaway”, suggesting I should join. I rushed to my phone and that’s how it all started. Chance works in mysterious ways.

What were the repercussions of the show on your work?
Of course, once you get on TV, you become known. People recognize you in the street and I had a little fan club while the show was on. This experience has taught me a lot about myself and my work. After the show, I was able to follow my ideas and inspirations, when I had been restraining myself before, for fear of upsetting people. Today I am lucky to work with many artists who like my vision and ask me for stage or videos costumes. And I love it… Letting my imagination run free, boundless…well, almost boundless.

Your workshop and showroom are in Strasbourg. Is there anywhere else we can see what you do with the Eponym brand?
For the time being, my pieces are available in Strasbourg and on the the internet, adeline-ziliox.com. But I am also looking for outlets in France and abroad to spread my style and ideas more widely!
